The image above shows the heating component of a hair dryer. When I was seeking initial inspirations for this project, I discovered that the functioning process of hair dryers was similar to that of light bulbs where they both generated heat and light with iron wires. In general, light bulbs were developed to produce sufficient light with less heat and lower electricity consumption. My idea was to express the contrary; to apply heat and dim light to create a lighting object. In this project, I kept the unique lines of the hair dryer and adapted its shape into a traditional-looking light bulb. The final product of this design was a strong blowing, high temperature, smoothly outlined lighting object which was not only decorative, but was also a functional electric tool like a heater.
